John Mactavish here with a recap of the Hermine swell in Sandbridge.

Most of the time when a hurricane is forecasted to bring swell to Sandbridge, the locals pack up and head south to the Outer Banks, while some stay back here in “The Bridge” to chase their home break. This past weekend the East Coast was slammed with hurricane/tropical storm Hermine, which brought nasty winds and terrible weather. On the day of the storm, Sandbridge was completely blown out with no chance for a solid swell. Once the storm moved out to sea, the winds switched, calmed everything down, and produced a solid swell up and down Virginia Beach. Thanks Hermine for leaving some great waves in your wake.
