Last Saturday, the Virginia Beach and Sandbridge surfing communities came together to honor the memory of James Normile and to raise funds for the Normile family at the First Annual “James Would Go” Surf Classic. James — a beloved son, brother, friend and S&A team rider — tragically lost his life in a car accident earlier this year.

Galvanized by James’ spirit and stoke for surfing and the ocean, dozens of local surfers put on a great show for a big crowd and a great cause on Oct. 13 at Sandbridge Market Beach. A special thanks goes out to Jane and Noah Fiedler for spearheading the contest and fund raising efforts.

Enjoy these photos from a very special day.
