Words by John Streit. Photos by Shaun Devine & Katie Slater. His new SPL Waterhousing and Shaun Devine are a match made in surf photography heaven. From the first swim with the new rig, Shaun came back to shore with some amazing images that emanated his talent for capturing the action, beauty and emotion of the moment. We couldn’t be more stoked for Shaun on his latest investment, which promises to yield volumes upon volumes of stoke. We’re also happy for him since he made another, more personal connection with his girlfriend Katie Slater! The couple met recently on one of Shaun’s many travels to the Outer Banks, where Katie worked this summer as a lifeguard in the Town of Duck. Since then, she’s relocated to Sandbridge and has been capturing photos, some of which are featured in the gallery below. It’s certain that the creative energy is flowing free; and with a busy fall and winter of waves in the forecast, we know many more Devine connections are in the future! The first eight photos of this set are from Shaun's first-ever swim with his SPL Waterhousing. We've been shooting from the water with the GoPro for some time now, but the waterhousing takes everything to a whole new level. Here, Todd Pace give him the old one-two. 1 of 2. Photo: Devine.
