After five long weeks of marginally rideable surf, it has been more than refreshing to see the Atlantic come alive and send much-needed swell to Virginia Beach and Sandbridge. Though more fun days have unfolded in the Outer Banks, even those locals have been fiending for something more solid. Our latest pulse of low pressure provided several days in a row of surf of varying sizes and moods. From drifty northeast sweepers to clean cylindrical shorebreak drainers, this swell showed many faces through its duration. Naturally, our team of contributors went to work documenting this preview of the more swell productive seasons ahead of us. While we still await the first legit hurricane swell of 2015, surfing for three or four days in a row close to home is all you can ask for in early August.
