Longtime Surf & Adventure photo contributor Allen Harcourt checks in with this set of images coming from an all-star session on Hatteras Island featuring Sterling King, Fisher Heverly, Lucas Rogers, Tristan Thompson and Thomas Carlson. The conditions became pristine as the wind died off as the sun set behind the Pamilco Sound to the west. The rich colors of the low sun angle really have a way of warming up winter surf pics, which can often look as frigid as the actual temperatures. Though water temperatures have plummeted since these photos were taken about a week ago, it’s easy to see how the relative warmth positively affects the performance of these shredders.
