I’ve always looked at the surfer-photographer connection as analogous to that of a wide receiver-quarterback in football. Just as the QB lines up that perfect spiral to hit the receiver in stride, so must the photographer have the lens pointed at at the surfer and know when to pull the trigger. When the shutter closes, it’s the same for both duos — sometimes you score, sometimes it’s incomplete. This gallery features a few touchdowns from Surf & Adventure teammates Matt McKechnie to Julian Smith — both of whom came away from this Hatteras session as winners! Matt dished out the photo dimes while Jules ran some hot routes in unseasonably warm waters. Yet another example of team work getting the job done right!
