Shaun Devine lines up a backhander at one of the Outer Banks’ most consistent spots. We’ll never tell, though! Photo: Dente. Photos by Dom Dente. Video by Justin Reinerth. Words by John Streit. It’s official: Spring has sprung in the Northern Hemisphere. It couldn’t have come a day sooner You wouldn’t know it if you looked out the window today; but the preview came to us last weekend in the form of mild temperatures and favorable winds, breaking the pattern of bitter cold following exiting swell-stirring weather systems. Pumping northeast swell greeted our shores on Friday, March 20 in the shoulder-high range in Virginia while the Outer Banks saw some solid overhead sets that eased overnight and into Saturday. To say that trading waves under two straight days of bluebird skies and springtime air temps — the water still has a long way to go — was refreshing for Surf & Adventure Co. team rider/crewman Shaun Devine and our good friend Justin Reinerth would be an understatement. We can’t wait for more warmer days like this! The sun’s only going to get brighter from here on out, so Justin Reinerth did the right thing and found some shade. Photo: Dente. You gotta pay to play.
